Suspect in Graham Waffle House shooting on the run

GRAHAM, N.C. — A suspect is on the run after allegedly shooting a man at a Waffle House early Thursday morning.

The gunshot victim Brandon Sharpe said he and Andrew Lee Ward, 28, got into a fight at the Waffle House located on East Harden Street in Graham at around 3 a.m.

Sharpe was shot during the fight and was taken to UNC Hospital for treatment.

Ward fled the scene heading East on Highway 54 in the direction of Chapel Hill in a black BMW 350i four-door sedan with the North Carolina license plate DDL-3438.

He is 5-foot-10 with short blond hair and blue eyes.

Authorities have issued a warrant for Ward’s arrest on a charge of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
