Speeding enforcement campaign in High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point police statistics show that in 2014, there were 132 wrecks during the Thanksgiving weekend in Guilford County alone. Five of those were fatal.

This year, law enforcement all over the Triad has teamed up to try and bring those numbers down.

A speeding enforcement campaign kicked off Monday and will run through the weekend.

Police officers say though it may seem like writing a speeding ticket could ruin a day, they see it as potentially saving a life.

“It could save their life, it could save their passenger’s life,” High Point police officer Jeffrey Crouse said. “It could save one of our family member’s lives. That might be who they hit.”
