GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — A woman was killed in a hit-and-run in Guilford County on Monday evening, according to Highway Patrol Master Trooper Chris Knox.
The incident happened between 5 and 6 p.m. on Old Randleman Road just east of U.S. 220, Knox said.
A woman had exited her vehicle and crossed Old Randleman Road to check her mailbox. According to Knox, when returning to her vehicle parked in her driveway, she was struck by a passing vehicle.
Authorities believe that a newer-model Ford F250 Super Duty is involved and need the public’s help in locating the parties involved.
The vehicle would have been traveling south on Old Randleman Road and would have damage to the front right side including the front headlight, Knox said.
The woman who was struck was pronounced dead at the scene. Knox said a news release with the woman’s identity is forthcoming.
